Inter-American Network of Academies of Sciences
The Inter-American Network of Academies of Science is a regional organization composed of 20 National Academies (including the National Academy of Exact, Physical and Natural Sciences and the National Academy of Sciences, both from Argentina) and 3 Regional Academies. The mission of IANAS is to strengthen the scientific communities of the Americas and to provide governments with a source of independent political advice on issues related to the challenges posed by science, technology and health.

Council meetings have been held uninterruptedly in the Americas: Canada (2005), Chile (2006), Mexico (2007), Costa Rica (2008), USA.
